Find Your Perfect Foundation

My No7 Match Made Foundation Experience.

I've just returned from having experienced the Match Made Foundation Service launched this week by the fabulous people at No7.

WOW! It's SO clever, such a revelation for the make up industry.

It was quick, easy, pain free, and most importantly very accurate.

As a Make Up Artist knowing how to match foundation to skin tone is imperative, it's the basis of any flawless make up application.

So before I 'took the No7 test' I put myself to the test and selected the colour that was right for me.
(Honey Beige)

What is it?

It's small hand held device that analyses your skins to find your exact skin tone, thus being able to recommend your perfect shade of foundation. The device has 8 led lights and 1 UV light. Each light enters the skin at a different angle and the cameras attached take 27 skin photographs with each click. Impressive huh!
The device can take up to 10 readings per analysis …227 photos! So you can be sure the reading is pretty spot on!

No7's Creative Director states that the "The best bit is that it works in any light so the results are the same if you measure in the dark or outside in strong sunlight. Ambient light doesn’t affect it at all – a welcome relief knowing how unrealistic and harsh shop lighting is!"

The reader said I was Cool Beige (I was a little flushed and warm at the time so it's obviously picked up more pink undertones in my skin) but Honey Beige was the second recommendation.

Just to be sure the consultant tried both on my skin (it was nice to be on the receiving end for a change! lol)  Turns out Honey Beige was a perfect colour for me!

If you are wearing make up, that's ok (they just remove the tiniest strip from the jawline and reapply for you after anyway)

They then find your perfect shade and recommend the right foundation for your skin type.

A Quick Guide to No7 Foundations

No7 have over 50 foundations in their range but here a quick overview to help you on your way to choosing the perfect one for you.

Essentially Natural - For anyone that doesn't like heavy foundation, very natural looking, almost like a tinted moisturiser of BB cream

Stay Perfect  - Long wearing, long lasting, great for all day wear at work etc.

Protect and Perfect - uses the serum 'Protect and Perfect' so has all the added skincare benefits

Lift and Luminate - Aimed at ages 45+ it firms and tones the skin and adds natural luminosity

Restore and Renew - Aimed at the over 60's this is a very nourishing and moisturising foundation with a very natural finish

Beautifully Matte - Aimed at oily skin, has technology that absorbs the oil throughout the day (Great for bridal)

Instant Radiance - Great for every day for extra luminosity and a dewy finish

It's 3 for 2 on No7 at the moment so I stocked up!

It's worth mentioning that the views expressed on this blog are all my own, I am not sponsored by No7 or indeed any other brand for that matter, I say what I like and express my honest and frank opinions, when a product or service is good I like to let all me lovely readers know about it!

Have your tried the Match Made Service - what did you think?
